After his time at Emory, Bill attended law school at The University of Alabama. Bill is married to his college sweetheart, Tara, who is a Dermotologist in Gainesville. They have a 22 month old son named... Emory. He is currently fielding recruiting offers from The University of Florida and The University of Alabama to play both baseball and football.

Bill Ezzell is one of the survivors of the "The Gunnery Sargent Years" of Emory baseball. Bill is known for his resourcefulness and quick thinking. A quick illustration of this cunning... During fall practice one year, Bill had tickets to that night's GA Tech football game. He desperately wanted to attend the game, but was well aware of the marathon fall practices that Coach Howard used to run. Bill also knew how important it was to Coach Howard for his players to always have a fresh shave on their faces. Bill decided not to shave before that practice. He casually ran past Coach Howard and allowed Coach to see that Bill had some stubble on his face. Coach Howard had the predicted reaction, which was to lambaste Bill in front of his teammates and then kick him out of practice. Bill, with a smile on his face, left practice and headed off to the GA Tech game, leaving the rest of us to practice on for the next five hours without him. The next day, Bill shaved before practice and acted as if Coach Howard had taught him a lesson. We all knew though, that Bill had gotten exactly what he wanted out of that experience.
